OVERVIEW 

Boongalla Build Pty Ltd is a wholly owned Australian Company providing commercial and domestic building services as well as specialist expertise in post flood cleaning, structural drying and mould remediation. They are the product of two companies merging and thus needed a fresh identity to be created. After some research, the final deliverables included a new brand logo, styles, letterhead, business cards, and website.

the problem

Boongalla group is in need of a new brand identity to represent the merge of two companies

the solution

Create a fresh brand identity to represent their new face in the form of a new logo, styles, business package, and website

RESEARCH

My client wanted to have a brand that was very striking and clean. We discussed color options and overall feel and I began my research by looking over current trends for color, logos, and layouts. After looking over their competitors I noticed they had very clean, slightly abstract logos accompanied by thoughtfully designed websites.

SKETCH AND PROTOTYPE

I chose to play with geometric and abstract shapes as well as the letter B and see where it took me. My research showed that clean abstract shapes were trending and would be a good fit for the feel I was trying to go with. 

LOGO ITERATIONS

I opted to offer my client a variety of shapes representing construction but made sure the logo was abstract enough that any viewers could identify with it.

STYLE GUIDE

Paying close attention to the trends of 2018-2019, bold colors, sharp typography and imagery are what make Boongalla Build's branding stand apart from their competitors.

TYPOGRAPHY

Proxima Nova Light

Proxima Nova Light is meant to be a paragraph and logo font. Paragraph sizing is 12-16 pt. Logo sizing is 64.78pt.

Proxima Nova Regular

Proxima Nova Regular is used as a body copy font allowing for easy reading and legibility. Body copy sizing is 12-16pt.

Proxima Nova Semibold

Proxima Nova Semibold is used as the logo and header font. Header sizing should be 18-36pt. Logo sizing is 64.78pt.

IMAGERY

It was important for the imagery to be striking and a chance to show potential clients of Boongalla Build's capabilities. These shots are of the Austin Hospital which was a site they were currently working at. I wanted to create abstract architecture shots to add to their website build to create a sharp yet cohesive look. 

FINAL DELIVERABLES

After the styles and logo was chosen and the photos were shot, it was time for everything to come together in the form of business cards, letterhead, and a new website.

CONCLUSION

As a whole, I'm pretty proud of the finished product. I feel the logo stands out against Boongalla Build's competitors and has a clean yet sleek feel.
